Collecting Diecast Cars – NASCAR

I’ve been collecting diecast cars for awhile now, I started with Hot Wheels as a child then as I got older I started collecting larger muscle cars. I collected Mustangs, Camaros, and Firebirds and so on. I also collected Indy cars and Formula 1, now I’m collecting NASCAR diecast cars. You can really go nuts with the NASCAR collection; each driver has two or three different paint schemes so you can collect them all for your favorite drivers, don’t forget all the Special Editions and fantasy paint schemes. Then there are all the different scales you can collect them in. You can get them in scale sizes from 1:64 to 1:18, 1:64 being the smallest and 1:18 being the largest.

So what scale do you collect small, medium or large, you can get great detail in any scale. I have a few 1:64, 1:43 and some 1:32 but mostly my diecast car collection consist of the 1:24 scale especially my NASCAR collection. They take up more room but they easier to see, maybe I’m getting older and need glasses but a story for another time. No matter what scale you collect they all look great and I’m sure that no one collects one scale and one scale only.

Don’t forget to get accessories for your collection; you can get car lifts, figurines, toolboxes, you can get a work shop and a crew to work on your cars. And let’s make sure to keep the dust off the diecast cars with some real nice display cases. You can place them in single display cases or a multiple wall mount display case. So if you are interested in diecast cars you should buy some diecast magazines. In the magazines you see all types of diecast cars from race cars to production cars. You can also check out your local hobby shop where you can get a close up look at all the different diecast cars. Don’t forget to ask your friends, they might be collector but just never talk about it. Your friends may be able to tell you of some good places to shop for your diecast models and where they have had good luck or bad luck in purchasing.

Old Car Magazines

Every car enthusiast at some point or another has bought themselves a car magazine. In the same way that record collectors and music lovers buy old copies of the NME and Melody Maker, car lovers seek out old car magazines such as Practical Motorist, Motor Sport and Motor Trader. There’s a certain joy in skimming through the pages of old car mags and not only seeing the models of the day in reviews and articles but also looking at the advertising from that era, it’s always interested to stumble across a classic article about a beloved, classic car.

It’s very exciting to find old car magazines in good condition for sale on online auctions sites such as eBay because magazine by their very nature are first bought, read through then ultimately throw away or passed onto friends and family. These types of magazines nearly always end up as bathroom fodder even before they end up in the rubbish so it’s very rare to find old car magazines in anything other than a tatty, worn state. Old car publications sometimes meet an unhappy end at the hands of rodents with a craving for the printed word or simply just degrade over time from poor storage. For old car magazines to survive intact they will need special treatment and care when transported during a clear out or house move.

Some collectors of old car magazines might simply stick to a single publication or a particular era so if you’re lucky enough to find someone who’s letting an entire collection go you might just have a fantastic lot of a certain motoring magazine; usually their value is based on their scarcity and condition. If you’re buying online in bulk make sure you can collect the magazines in person as your precious magazines may be damaged in transit if the seller has inadequately packaged them.

How to Find the Perfect Car Show For the Cars You Are Interested In

If you are looking for a car show the most popular car shows are going to be the ones that are hot rods and street cars. Those are the only car shows that you are not going to have any trouble finding. The only ones that I can think of that you would have trouble getting to or finding would be the shows like collectibles and car shows like that. Other ones I like are best in show and show cars and are are going to be easy to find. So if you want to attend a collector’s car show then you need to get online and start looking up an exhibition in the near future if you want to go.

The good car shows are the ones with the hot rods and street cars in them. All you do is go online or turn on the TV and you should be able to find what you are looking for. All you need to do is go online and type in car show. When you type in the keyword be sure to type in the area in which you live in or it will just pull up random car shows everywhere so be sure to type in your area.

After you have discovered the type of event that you want to observe then you just get ready for the show and then start driving to the event. If you do not know where any auto expos are and you were supposed to be at a certain one at a certain time then you better call some people and get directions because I have no idea how you are going to make it unless you can just be late and get your car judged later.

If you subscribe to a car magazine then you are most likely going to get invites to car shows and stuff like that because you are in a magazine subscription so they will be sending you all kinds of stuff about cars and car shows you just are going to have to drive to get to the car that you want to attend. If you cannot find a car show still then you just need to look online and try your best is all I can tell you.
